We contracted with Tim in December 2015 to complete a number of projects in our new condo and we are extremely pleased with all of his work. He is a real craftsman and very talented. He was always on the job on time, communicated with us regularly with updates on the many projects, and completed all work on schedule. The quality of everything he did for us was very high. We would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy, timely, skillful, professional, kind, and honest contractor. From our own experience, such people are hard to come by these days.

Having seen Covenant Construction’s work at a friend’s home, I asked Tim Golding to transform my century-old house with a kitchen remodel, addition of a mudroom and 1/2 bath, and a bedroom remodel. Tim and Tom deftly managed all the moving parts such as permits, electric, plumbing, HVAC, floor installation and refinishing, tile, cabinet and counter installation, etc. and kept the project moving ever forward. Their construction and handiwork brought it all together in a truly beautiful package. They offer a balance of sensible advice with allowances to the homeowner to make stylistic decisions. The “site” was kept amazingly neat and clean so that we could live amidst the construction. I recommend them highly.

I bought a house on the Old West Side of Ann Arbor that had suffered from years of neglect. The house needed extensive work and it was a challenging project, but Covenant Construction rose to the task. During the planning stage, the details of the work had to be arranged by e-mail, but that worked out well. I was away when most of the work was done, but was comfortable placing my trust in Covenant Construction. They were also very helpful with arranging building permits and dealing with inspections, which are very rigid in Ann Arbor. Some contractors prefer to leave work to others, but Covenant Construction did much of the work themselves and understood the details of the site very well, which was very reassuring. All projects have a few loose ends that need to be dealt with after the work is done, and Covenant Construction was very good in dealing with these issues. I recommend them most highly.

Employing Thomas Golding was a perfect experience for me.  He is terrifically talented and great  in his field of getting a project done on time and no problems he can’t solve.  I enjoyed employing him and it was a pleasure having him construct what I wanted. He’s a great guy, congenial, and I’m so glad I found him to do the work needed done here.

We were relatively new to the area when we decided to put an addition on our 1906 home. We had talked to several construction firms, but it was a referral to Covenant that steered us in the right direction. Our addition included 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a pantry and a mud room and the kicker was we didn’t want it to look like it was a new build. Tom and Tim helped us select woodwork, doors and a design that was seamless with the original house. When people say “I thought you were getting an addition” we have to tell them that they are standing in it. The best part is that the work was done on time and on budget. We liked Covenant’s work so much we had them update our kitchen a couple of years later.

We worked with Covenant Construction last year on a major kitchen remodel – tearing down and moving walls, placing a beam to reinforce the removal of a load-bearing wall, relocating every kitchen appliance, etc. etc. We knew it was a big job and of course we ran into unexpected challenges along the way. Thomas Golding and his team were professional, understanding and focused on our vision. He brought in and managed the architect, electricians, woodworking craftsmen (for a custom countertop in our butler’s pantry) and other key subcontractors to bring the vision our designer had created from our wish list to life.

The Covenant Construction team, with Tom’s leadership, is professional, creative and proactive. They were focused on our timing, our budget, and our long-term satisfaction while working every day to make our home as livable as possible during the renovation. We were introduced to Covenant by a neighbor who was very pleased with the work they did for her. Covenant gutted our kitchen to the bare walls and completely rebuilt the floors, lighting, and electrical distribution, and then installed the cabinets and appliances. The work was done in a timely manner and the quality of work was excellent. Shortly thereafter we went back to Covenant to finish our basement. While a significant construction project in your living space is never convenient, Covenant provided us with regular updates on construction activity, took precautions to limit the dust and debris in the basement and in our living spaces, and worked with us closely to resolve the inevitable construction conflicts and details. We’re pleased with our new basement and our guests have enthusiastically complimented the overall appearance of the space.
